Celta Vigo starlet Gabri Veiga will be a perfect signing for Arsenal this summer as the 21-year-old bears some similarities to former England midfielder.
As per reports, Arsenal are not stopping in this transfer window. Gunners are linked to Spanish midfielder Gabri Veiga throughout this summer.
Manager Mikel Arteta stated during the club’s pre-season that there is still “time to do things” this summer. They’ve already spent more than £200 million so far in this window.
Veiga mentioned with a move to the North-London club since February. However, speculation has grown throughout the summer following the end of 2022/23 season.
According to French outlet L’Equipe, the 21-year-old is not interested in moving to Paris Saint-Germain this summer. Arsenal are one of the contenders fighting for his signature.
The reports also claims that All London clubs are fighting Veiga’s signature this summer. Both Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are also monitoring him who has £40m(£34m) release clause in place in Spain.
Veiga has been one of La Liga’s most exciting prospects last season. He has been lauded as “sensational” by the members of the media.
In 2022/23 season, Veiga contributed by scoring 11 goals and providing 4 assists. He showed dominant performance playing as a central-midfielder.
Talent scout Jacek Kulig even compared Veiga to former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere. The former England international averaged 1.7 tackles and 1.5 interceptions per game, via WhoScored.
Similar numbers were clock by Veiga last term, who averages 1.10 key passes and 1.69 interceptions per game for the Spanish outfit. He could emulate Wilshere’s spark in his youths at the Emirates.
