Former Scottish footballer Pat Nevin feels that new signing Kai Havertz have the potential to be one of the finest footballer of this generation.

According to Metro, Nevins states that manager Mikel Arteta has got an “big upgrade” on Granit Xhaka. Havertz joined Gunners from rival Premier league club Chelsea this summer.

Arsenal paid £65 million for the German international. He’ll soon joined by West Ham starman Declan Rice and Ajax defender Jurrien Timber at the Emirates.

Havertz is seen one of the most exciting prospects in footballing world right now. Former footballer Paul Nevin have lot of expectation on him. He said :-

“I think Havertz could still be one of the greatest players of his generation.

“Arsenal have sealed an absolute cracker of a deal with Havertz. I’m really confident that Mikel Arteta will be able to get the best out of him as well.

“Arsenal’s team for next season is already looking extremely good. I think replacing Granit Xhaka in midfield as well is a big upgrade.”

Nevin feels that Havertz should play at the middle, but also claims that he struggled at top of the pitch. He further stated:-

“He was playing at centre-forward at Chelsea and that is not his strongest position. Playing there really took away the strongest parts of his game,” Nevin added.

“Even though he scored the winner for Chelsea in the Club World Cup and the Champions League, we still have not seen the best of him. Arsenal have got a great player.”
