“I am happy”: Sporting man Viktor Gyokeres claims no interest in move to Chelsea

Chelsea target Sporting Lisbon man Viktor Gyokeres says he is happy at the club. Chelsea are in a hunt to sign Gyokeres as their potential striker. However, their current situation may make it hard for them to convince him. In an interview with Record, the 25-year-old made it clear that he is happy at Sporting. He further claimed that he does not care about interest from other clubs. Gyokeres joined the Portuguese side in the summer only. Since then, he has been booming there with 17 goals in just 20 appearances.

If Chelsea are to sign the former Coventry man, they will have to wait for some time. Speaking about his rumours to clubs, the striker said,

I think it’s a bit like when Sporting came in to sign me… I’m very happy here and I don’t care about any interested parties at the moment.

I’m enjoying every day here and not thinking about what’s going on around me. Yes, there’s talk of big clubs, but for now it’s just news. That’s all. Yes. This is where I want to stay.”

Gyokeres looks to be uninterested in a move away from Portugal for now. Moreover, Napoli man Victor Osimhen has also penned a new contract with the Italians. It means that Pochettino may have to rely on Jackson, Nkunku and Armando Broja for the rest of the season. Though, Christopher Nkunku showed why Chelsea paid a huge sum for him after his goal last Sunday. If Chelsea are going to continue with their current squad, the Blues will hope for more performances like this from the ex- Leipzig man.
