Gary Lineker has recently shared whom he thinks can be the Premier League champions. Lineker previously said Arsenal can be the champions of the Premier League. However, he is now indifferent to his previous statement. Clubs like Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Aston Villa are all in the race for title. Moreover, the fans are a witness to some dramatic title race in the past as well. This is any is also looking no different like the former ones. The top four sides are separated by a gap of 5 points only.
It will take a brave man to predict the league winner. Speaking on The Rest is Football, Gary Lineker has given his verdict on how this will all play out. In an interview with Micah Richards, he said
“Is it crazy to say that it’s possible that Arsenal won’t finish in the top four? I think they will finish in the top four.”
In response to this Micah said that it was he who predicted Arsenal will be the league champions.
“I think Arsenal will be in the top four, but it goes back to January, I think they need a striker, you tipped Arsenal to win the league didn’t you Gary?”
“I did, I did, only to be contrary to you two who had both gone for the obvious choice of Manchester City, I still suspect it probably will be Manchester City, but I’m not changing, even though I’d rather Tottenham win the league and Aston Villa are in there.”
Premier League predictions of Lineker are very brave
It is definitely a brave statement from Gary at such an early stage. Although, there are speculations of City to retain, we cannot rule out other clubs. Moreover, it is also seen that City won a game in there 6 matches. There will be ups and downs for all the clubs during the upcoming weeks. We should keep an eye on the growing league games.
