India will trip England next year for a limited-overs series and also for their 5th test. The 5th test, which was cancelled, will be rescheduled ahead of the series’ conclusion.
IPL 2021 was postponed in the middle after the second wave of Covid-19 in India. And the players who were in England for the test matches have to relocate to the IPL 2021 bubbles in the UAE. As a result, the 5th Test match was cancelled. The unfinished test match, on the other hand, will be postponed for July 2022.
Although, there was a news regarding sudden indefinite outbreak of Covid-19 cases in mid toss. The Manchester Test then got postponed after England and Wales Cricket Board had made an announcement. Following that, the 5th match was paused in the favor of India. India was leading by 2-1. Though, BCCI and ECB came to the agreement that the 5th Test will be rescheduled in July 2022.
“We are very pleased that we have reached an agreement with BCCI to creating a fitting end to what has been a brilliant series so far,” – Tom Harrison.
The BCCI thanked the ECB for its understanding in seeking an amicable solution in the discussions of the last two months to find a suitable window.
India tour of England revised schedule for the 5th Test
India vs England 5th Test is rescheduled between 1st to 5th July, 2022. The venue will be Edgbaston, Birmingham.
After the limited over series, 5th Test will be held ahead of the ODI and T20 series in July 2022.
