India’s top order tumbles at Ind vs. Pak Asia Cup, Sunil Gavaskar defends them. The Indian batters had to face the recap action of Shaheen Africa as that of the T20 World Cup 2021 held in UAE.

INDIA’S TOP ORDER CONCERN

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first top-order of India collapsed to the attack of Pakistan’s left-arm seamers. The Indian team was 64/4 in 14.1 overs. Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf were among the bowlers who stunned Indian batters with their best.

However, there were two pauses in the first innings due to passing showers. Indian Skipper Rohit Sharma scored 11 off 22 balls, Virat Kohli scored four of seven balls. Gill scored 10 off 32 balls. The number four batsman, Shreyas Iyer, hit two boundaries when he arrived at the crease, but soon he handed a catch to Fakhar Zaman after scoring 14 off nine balls.

Reacting to the collapse, legendary Cricketer Sunil Gavaskar told Sports Tak

“I don’t think there’s any huge concern. You look at their records. Virat has scored more than 11000 runs, Rohit has scored more than 9000 runs, and Shubman Gill has shown shades of what he is capable of too. If even after big players like Virat and Rohit fail, we have a responsible No.5 and No.6 who can take us to 260-odd, we don’t need to worry. These things happen in cricket, there will be days where the bowlers are too good”

However, team India’s score got a lift after the arrival of Wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan and Vice-captain Hardik Pandya. The 25-year-old young batsman, Ishan Kishan, smashed 82 off 81 balls. In addition, the Vice-captain, Hardik Pandya, sliced 87 runs off 90 balls. However, the match got shelved due to bad weather.
