Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta confirms that French International Benjamin Pavard is close joining the Italian outfit this summer.

Speaking to Sky Sports Italia via FCInterNews, Inter also states that Pavard is eager to join them. Manager Simone Inzaghi is aware of their pursuit of the Bayern defender.

Inter still haven’t replaced Milan Skriniar, who joined PSG this summer. Pavard looks like the potential candidate to replace the Slovakian international.

Marotta confirmed the situation and said :-

“What the player wants is important.

“In this case he has expressed his desire to come to Inter, and he’s extremely keen,” the Inter CEO continued.

“However, Bayern are a rich team and they always have top players. So they’ll have to find another one before they can send Pavard to us.”

“There are economic factors, but also ones to do with having a strong squad.

“That’s what makes things difficult.

“But the negotiations are still open.”

The Inter CEO is astonished to see money spend by Saudi Clubs this summer, he claimed :-

“In fact, we don’t know what the consequences will be.

“The fact that €700 million worth of players have been taken from Europe is certainly significant.

““But then we have to look at the fact that we’re currently cash-poor. Serie A needs a new television deal, and the entry of big Arab clubs can certainly cause problems for us.”

Pavard has been among top defenders in the world after his scintillating display at FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia.
