Jack Grealish claims that Manchester City legend is one of the toughest players he ever faced

Manchester City player Jack Grealish says that club legend is one of the toughest player he ever faced. Grealish was talking about City icon Yaya Toure whom he faced when at Aston Villa. Toure was a man possessed during the contest in 2014, as Manchester City beat the Villains 4-0. The Ivorian ran the length of the pitch to dart past a number of the opposition’s players before slotting the ball past the goalkeeper in vintage fashion. When quizzed about the toughest players, Jack recalls the game against Yaya a decade ago. He said,

Yaya Toure. When he played for Man City against [Aston] Villa in my debut. He was just silly, man. He was unbelievable.

Yeah, Yaya Toure was head and shoulders above everyone. It was that season 2013/2014 season, do you remember? Yeah, free-kicks, yeah, I’m sure he scored 20 goals or something in the Prem [Premier League] from midfield.

A young Grealish would have been shell shocked by the elegance of legendary midfielder. Yaya was a player of technicality, elegance and shear genius of the game. However, it is definitely a huge compliment for him that years after retirement Jack still remembers facing him a decade ago. It was due to his brilliance that he is code won the best goals of his career against Villa. The midfield maestro bossed proceedings from the get-go, controlling the tempo of the clash, picking up dangerous positions in the final third and showcasing his technical elegance. Manchester City currently stand third in the league having played a game less than the league leaders.
