Jeremy Doku hails Bernardo Silva’s dribbling artistry at Manchester City

Jeremy Doku, new face at Manchester City, took a moment to applaud the remarkable dribbling skills of teammate Bernardo Silva. The Belgian winger made a £55 million move from Rennes in the last summer. He shared his admiration for Silva’s exceptional control over the ball, especially when faced with opposition pressure.

In a recent video featured on the club’s official YouTube channel, Doku specifically highlighted Bernardo Silva’s distinctive dribbling technique. Noting how Silva adeptly manages to keep possession even when confronted by multiple defenders, he expressed,

“He has another way of dribbling than me for example, but the way that the ball sticks to his feet after four, five defenders coming after him. And he’s not strong, he’s not the strongest, he’s not the fastest but the way he keeps the ball, this is like [top tier].”

Bernardo Silva, who arrived at Manchester City from AS Monaco for £43 million in 2017, has showcased his immense talent across 330 appearances in various competitions, contributing 61 goals and 63 assists to the team’s success.

In the ongoing Premier League season, Doku has proven his own adeptness in dribbling. He is leading the Manchester City squad with the most successful take-ons (44) and penetrations into the penalty area (61). It highlights his effectiveness in the attacking phase of play.

Teammates laud Bernardo Silva’s exceptional skills

This isn’t the first instance where Bernardo Silva’s dribbling prowess has earned commendation. Maximo Perrone previously mentioned the difficulty he faced in dispossessing Silva during training sessions, emphasizing his extraordinary ball control skills.

Bernardo Silva’s proficiency in navigating the pitch while maintaining possession emerges as a prominent asset, proving troublesome for opponents. His ability to retain the ball, even under intense pressure, remains a significant strength for Manchester City, contributing significantly to their formidable attacking play.
