Everton are in talks with Jesse Lingard over a possible move to Goodison Park. Following the departure of RIcharlison to Spurs, Everton are in dire need of reinforcements. Frank Lampard has identified Jesse Lingard as a potential candidate for a reinforcement

Everton have started their talks with Lingard and his representative over a possible move. Lingard ticks a lot of boxes for Everton and Frank Lampard. His contract expiration means that he is available as a free agent and is available at a lower cost. Moreover, his exploits in the Premier League are of a very high standard. No wonder Frank Lampard seems interested.

The England international struggled for game time with United during the recent seasons. This led to him losing out on a place on the first team. He was shipped off on a loan spell to West Ham in the 2020/21 season. However, this transfer was a reminder of the tremendous abilities and talent that he possesses. He score nine times and assisted five times in just sixteen appearances for the club.

Everton are in the market for reinforcements

Lampard has already secured the high-profile signing of former Burnley defender James Tarkowski. Richarlison has left the Toffees to continue his career with Tottenham Hotspurs. Lampard is hoping that Lingard is the perfect player to replace Richarlison.

Everton are reluctant to spend big money on a Lingard as it’ll lead to a breach of the financial fair play rules of the Premier League. However, the sale of Richarlison has given them enough funds to go after a new player.

Moreover, Lingard comes with his fair share of problems as well. The most prominent one is his demand for exorbitant wages. West Ham is also interested in signing the forward. Moreover, they are reluctant to do so because of the wage demands of Lingard.

Lingard’s move to Everton is a no-brainer. If the Toffees are able to afford him and his wages, they should go for it. You don’t often get the chance to sign a recent England international at a good age for nothing.
