Reds journalist Lewis Steele claims that Manager Jurgen Klopp is delighted with Wataru Endo’s addition into the squad this summer.

Speaking on the Premier League Q/A sessions for Daily Mail, Steele stated that the German discussed about the Japanese international with other old colleagues in Bundesliga. Everyone praised Endo and his character at VfB Stuttgart.

Additionally, the journalist discussed the matter and said :-

“He is a good bit of business and Jurgen Klopp was privately delighted with it.

“Plenty of Klopp’s former colleagues have contacted him to wax lyrical about Endo, as one former Dortmund star said it could be one of the finest bits of business of his career.

However, Steele further added that the German monitored the 30-year-old for months :-

“Klopp has watched footage of Endo for months and is said to be buoyed by his personality especially, with the Japanese having an infectious smile and leader-like traits. He also has a near-perfect injury record and can play at right-back and centre-back as well, which is needed.

“At just £16.2million, it gives Liverpool breathing room financially to make another addition. As they are still trying to do so but his arrival means they are now less desperate.”

Endo made his debut at Anfield on Saturday against Bournemouth FC. Liverpool came from behind to win 3:1 against the Cherries.

However, the Japanese impressed everyone with his work-rate and stubbornness at middle of the park. Club Supporters will also be eager to see more of Wataru Endo as the new season unfolds.

The 30-year-old might get his first start against Newcastle United this weekend. Hence, it will be excellent opportunity for him to showcase his skills in front of a newly promoted Champions League club.
