Jurgen Klopp hints the return of £40m star forward after an intense training session

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp hints the return of his star forward Diogo Jota. Klopp shares that Jota is currently doing intense training session. Noticably, the Portuguese forward is out due to injury he sustained against Manchester City last month. Now, he is nearing to a full return into the Reds squad. However, the injury crisis looks not to leave Liverpool as Kostas Tsimikas also picked up an injury against Arsenal on Saturday.

Speaking to the press, Klopp has indicated that Jota could now be back as early as Boxing Day to face Burnley. He reveals that the winger is back in training session and can be back anytime. He said,

“I don’t want to rule out anybody now. We will see. He didn’t train with the team yet and we have only one proper session, so it would be a surprise – but maybe I will be surprised and all fine.

I don’t know. I saw him [on Friday]; he didn’t train with the team but the session I saw was really intense, but I didn’t ask yet who will be available. The medical department will tell me and then I will know more.”

Although Liverpool are not going top of the league this Christmas, heading into 2024 with top spot is feasible. The German manager’s side have the chance to go past Arsenal winning over Burnley and Jota’s return is definitely a boost for the side. The Portugal international is one the most clinical finishers in Merseyside club. With Darwin Nunez yet to score a goal since October in the league, Jota can be a huge addition to bolster the forward lineup. Moreover, Klopp’s words also hint that Jota might be back in the Boxing Day.
