Khephren Thuram showing great form as Reds reignite their interest

French midfielder Khephren Thuram has been in excellent at the start of this season as Liverpool reignite their interest once again.

The midfield showing his real calibre at the start of the Ligue 1 campaign. French outfit OGC Nice wanted around £30-£35 million for Thuram as per multiple reports.

Thuram has been a key man across their successive draws against Lille and FC Lorient, as he started in both the games. Being a defeat midfielder, he played slightly forward, just ahead of Youssouf Ndayishimiye.

His defensive attributes are topnotch, however Thuram can also play as a part of midfield trio, where he can carry the ball, chasing down the opponent and supply the ball into the frontline. His numbers speaks of himself as with 84 passes, 90% pass accuracy, two major change created.

Midfielder’s defensive quality are among the very best as he had 9 tackles, two interception and 15/27 duels won. However Liverpool signed Stuttgart midfielder Wataru Endo as they didn’t have a holding midfielder this season.

Reds plan still remains unclear what are they particularly targetting in this transfer window. Players such as Kalvin Phillips, Ryan Gravenberch and Manu Kone have been all linked with a move to Anfield this summer.

All these three are good reinforcement for Liverpool, but the time is running in this transfer window. However Khephren Thuram has the ability to supply the ball from the deep.

Nice manager suggested they’ll not force players to stay at the club :-

“We hope to keep all of our vital players, but we’ve never tied players down. If all parties are satisfied, a departure could happen.”
