Manager Jurgen Klopp claims Mohamed Salah is one the best player ever to wear the Liverpool jersey in the Premier League history.
Speaking to liverpoolfc.com, Klopp explains why he choose Virgil van Dijk as a club captain for the upcoming season after Jorden Henderson’s departure. Many fans questioned the fact that why Mo was not choosen as the ‘arm band’ holder. The German said :-
“And the same is for Mo [that he’s a natural leader], captain of Egypt, one of the best players to ever play for this club.
“But strikers are different, strikers have to be different – we all benefit from that. So we need him as a role model, we need Mo as the one who leads the line. If you want, who is the first to press, who’s the first to all these things on the pitch.
“And off the pitch, he’s smart, everybody loves him, everybody wants to have him around, so for us he’s super, super-important.”
Jurgen Klopp is a huge fan of Egyptian’s unmatchable potentiality
Nobody can disagree of that fact that Mohamed Salah is one of the greatest player in Liverpool’s all time history. The Egyptian international will cross the 200 goal mark in the upcoming campaign. Currently standing at 186 goals(same as Steven Gerrard), he would then become the third man to hit the milestone after Roger Hunt(258) and Ian Rush(336).
Salah has been a very important figure in Liverpool’s recent sucessful stint. He helped the team to win six major trophies at Anfield.
The 31-year-old will play an important role of Klopp’s squad in this upcoming campaign. The German gaffer plans to reshuffle his team to taste the success again in future.
