Lando Norris amity with Verstappen bad news for Mercedes?

McLaren driver Lando Norris and Max Verstappen’s friendship is not hidden from anyone. But can this eventually hurt Mercedes?

Most of the F1 world proclaim Lando Norris to be a very talented young driver. Many pundits and F1 enthusiasts predict the 21-year-old to be the eventual replacement of Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes.

In February, he signed a deal with McLaren till the end of the 2025 season. This spoiled the assumptions of many experts that Norris would eventually replace Hamilton. Many F1 stars praise the young driver’s skills and talent. Nico Rosberg predicted that, Norris would eventually leave Verstappen, Russell, and Leclerc behind in terms of the World Championships.

That is a big statement to give. Nevertheless, the 22-year-old Brit does possess some immense talent.

Mercedes being the engine supplier of McLaren can claim a driver in a deal just like George Russell. By the time Lando Norris’ contract expires, Hamilton would be around 40, making it a probability that Norris could get the seat.

Nevertheless, Hamilton recently claimed that he still has “gas left in the tank” and would go on.

Moreover, the Silver Arrows signed George Russell this season only, making the prospect of Lando Norris driving a W13 anytime soon unfeasible. Moreover, his ever-increasing friendship with Mercedes rivals Red Bull’s Max Verstappen would certainly not please the Silver Arrows.

In a recent tweet posted by McLaren on Monday, the duo was found wearing a matching necklace in a nightclub.

The duo seemed to be mocking the recent jewelry ban in F1.
