Leandro Trossard was at his very best against Everton

Television presenter and pundit Jermaine Jenas claims Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard was at his very best against Everton on Sunday.

Gunners picked up 1:0 victory over the Mersyside club this week. Mikel Arteta’s team dominated the game from the very first minute until Trossard scored a brilliant goal in 70th minute to seal game for the visitors.

The Belgian International replaced injured Gabriel Martinelli early in the first half. The Brazilian though he scored the opening goal but Eddie Nketiah was in a offside position in build up to the goal.

Trossard stepped up in a clinical situation at Goodison park and saved the day for Arsenal. Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka linked up the play on the right-hand side to initiate the attack.

Saka squared the ball to Trossard, who scored past Jordan Pickford to score the goal. Hence Jermaine Jenas was impressed with the Belgian’s performance on Sunday.

Speaking on the Match of the Day 2, Jenas discussed Arsenal’s set play routine and praised Trossard for his brilliant goal. He said :-

“This is exactly what they do here. Once that ball comes out to the edge of the box where they should have someone [there], Everton are now on the move.

“This is where Arsenal are at their best – one and two-touch play. The finish from Leandro Trossard is absolutely sensational.”

Back in January, Trossard joined the North-London club from Brighton. After Martinelli’s injury, he stepped up for Arsenal once again and showed his real calibre.

The 28-year-old is already proven his quality to manager Mikel Arteta and he will be important for upcoming fixture against PSV Eindhoven in Champions League on Thursday.
