Lewandowski wants a move to Real Madrid: What can he offer Los Blancos?

According to AS, Robert Lewandowski has asked his agent to work for a move to Real Madrid. The Bayern Munich superstar wants to step out of Germany and wants to play for the Spanish Giants. Some may believe it is because of the recent Balon d’Or events. Lewandowski has been absolutely phenomenal for the past few seasons and is very unfortunate to not win a Ballon d’Or. As a result, he wants his agent Pini Zahavi to arrange a transfer to Real Madrid.

The Polish international is experiencing another outstanding season in Germany, where he has continued to score at an astonishing rate. During this season’s campaign, Lewandowski has scored 25 goals and contributed two assists in 20 games for Bayern Munich in all competitions. Lewandowski is currently the best goalscorer in the world and there’s no denying it. Based on his average of 4.2 shots, 1.2 critical passes, and 1.0 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga, the 33-year-old has been a treat to the eyes of football fans around the world. He is also a very good ball distributor, completing 78 percent of his attempted passes in Bundesliga. (stats via whoscored)

Very few clubs in Europe would say no to Robert Lewandowski. However, Real Madrid already have a seasoned striker Karim Benzema and are planning to bring in Kylian Mbappe. Nevertheless, it cannot be denied that Lewandowski may guarantee them more goals than other options. Whenever Lewandowski has the ball in the box, there is only one result. He can score from any position in the box and is very unlikely to miss sitters or make mistakes. This quality of Lewandowski is enough to make the Real Madrid fans happy.

What can Robert Lewandowski offer Real Madrid?

Lewandowski is the best goalscorer in the world, and he should be appreciated for scoring goals at such a high pace despite his age. He has great awareness due to his experience and can also help his teammates in attacking situations. This will increase the number of goalscoring opportunities for Real Madrid. He covers his lack of pace with great blindside and well-timed runs to beat the offside trap. Such runs sometimes also get the attention of defenders resulting in more space for his teammates.

If Real Madrid finds a way to pair up Robert Lewandowksi and Karim Benzema then that would be a nightmare for the defenders and goalkeepers. Both the players have very few differences but if both are able to work together then Real Madrid can create terror amongst their opponents with just their frontline barring their other star players in midfield and defense.

Although it will be tough to sign a player like Lewandowski, it is still possible as the player himself is willing and the club may hardly rule it out. However, it will be a question in many people’s minds about what happens to Benzema if the transfer goes through. Surely, Real Madrid won’t let him go easily as he has basically carried the Real Madrid team after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. Moreover, it is also to be seen what happens with Kylian Mbappe if the Lewandowski transfer goes through. One thing is for sure that Real Madrid is going to have a threatening frontline next season.
