Lineker backs Nunez after a stunning display against Newcastle

Former footballer Gary Lineker praises Uruguayan forward Darwin Nunez after he scored twice against Newcastle United at St James Park.

Liverpool came from behind to register a historic victory against the Magpies on Sunday. Anthony Gordan’s early gave Newcastle the lead but at the very end Reds came up on the top.

Even with 10-men as Virgil van Dijk was sent off for a clumpsy tackle against Alexander Isak, Reds rised from the ruins. Liverpool supporters are going ecstatic over the social media, as Reds registered another tale in their folklores.

The Uruguayan amazed Lineker with his performance

After the match, Gary Lineker praises Darwin Nunez for his steller performance against Newcastle. He wrote:-

“Wow! Stunningly gritty performance from @LFC. Thought Nunez might deliver this season and he certainly has this afternoon. 2 fabulous finishes.”

Linekar also believes the fact the Nunez will explode in this campaign. The former footballer also claims that he was right about Nunez and his potentiality.

The 24-year-old made 29 apperances last campaign in which he scored nine goals and provided three assists. Nunez is an excellent striker who has great eye for goal.

He joined Liverpool from Portuguese outfit Benfica FC last summer as he came with great reputation. However, his first season at Anfield was of mixed emotions.

Nunez looks determined to shut his critics for one’s and all as Lineker backs the young forward to prosper in this current campaign.
