Pundit Gary Neville claims Liverpool could win the Premier League title, if they signed Declan Rice in the summer transfer window.
Speaking on the The Gary Nevill Podcast, Former United legend was discussing after Arsenal’s 1:0 victory over Manchester City at the Emirates. Meanwhile, Arteta’s men made a big statement in this campaign’s title race.
Declan was in outstanding form against the league winners as he showcased a dominant display in the middle of the park. But it was a hard fought contest between both the heavyweights on Sunday.
However, Liverpool have made a solid start to their campaign. After Tottenham disaster, Reds are expected to build up their confidence to get back to into title contention.
There are several areas of concern for Klopp’s men and Gary Neville now admits they could have won the league, if they bought Declan Rice this summer. He further said:-
“They could, they’re more likely to than Spurs, no doubt about that.
“I think Liverpool have got something about them. Today they were playing against a really good Brighton side. They’ve got an outstanding goalkeeper, Liverpool, that I always think will keep them in a lot of football matches. And they’ve got striker who can score goals, and lots of them. They’ve got a good forward line.
“The midfield, it’s attacking. Has it got the defensive stability of what we’ve seen here today. Have they got that defensive stability, Liverpool? If you put Declan Rice in Liverpool’s holding midfield position, or you put Rodri in there, I’d be saying Liverpool will definitely be on for the title.”
