Liverpool currently discussing a new deal with the 32-year-old midfielder

Liverpool are currently discussing a new deal with veteran midfielder Thiago Alcantara as the Spaniard is in final year of his contract.

As per Football Insider, both the parties are in contact with each other over a new deal. However, the discussions are currently at hault as there is nothing advanced at this moment.

The Mersyside club first want to see his availability and fitness before offering him a contract. Thiago has been linked with a move to Turkey and Saudi Arabia this summer, but the respective moves failed to materialise due certain circumstances.

Earlier this month, Football Insider revealed that Liverpool didn’t allow Thiago to terminate his contract this summer. The Spaniard will have all the time to decide about his future.

After bringing reinforcement this summer, Liverpool have completely changed their midfield with new faces. Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch joined the club.

Meanwhile, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson have left the club as Jurgen Klopp is looking fresh and young bloods in his team. Liverpool is already looking a fresh team as they’re currently unbeaten across all competitions this season.

Thiago’s career at Anfield is plagued by injuries as the Spaniard is yet make a apperance this season due to hip injury. He has made only 97 outings for Reds since joining the club in 2021.

At this stage of his career, Thiago will look for a new challenge and he might go out of Europe. Saudi Arabia looks like suitable option for the 32-year-old next summer.
