Liverpool has been handed a huge boost as their transfer target is set to sign for an England-based agency. Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko is the prime transfer target of Liverpool in this transfer window.
Meanwhile, the Dortmund starlet is one of the most talked about players in Europe. Moreover, the 17-year-old is even labeled as the ‘next Haaland’ in Dortmund.
The German club is not in a good run of form this season. Meanwhile, the club is currently in the fifth position in the League table. However, Moukoko has been one of the standout performers for them.
The teenager has scored four goals and two assists in his 10 Bundesliga outings for Dortmund.
Liverpool leading the race for the signing
The Reds are leading the race to sign him at the moment. Moreover, Moukoko’s decision to join the England-based agency has handed a boost to the Reds’ management.
Moukoko is set to join Unique Sports Management when he turns 18 on November 20. Meanwhile, ex-Man Utd and Bayern Munich legend Owen Hargreaves praised the youngster. He said:
“He’s producing the goods, a bit like Jude, Jude’s only 19, Moukoko’s amazing, only 17,”
“The numbers throughout the youth ranks have been off the charts, he’s always played two, three years ahead, he’s always producing numbers, can he do it in men’s football?
“And he’s been doing it. I think we’ll see a great athlete and one of those players I’m sure all the Premier League teams will be looking at. To be producing at this level at 17 is incredible.”
Moukoko is set to be a free agent in the summer of 2023 after his contract extension talks broke down with Dortmund. The Reds are the firm favorites to sign him.
However, other European clubs are also monitoring his situation. So, it remains to be seen in which club the 17-year-old ends up.
