Liverpool is not aware that Arsenal is considering pursuing Curtis Jones

Liverpool

Over the past 12 months, Jones, 22, has emerged as a crucial member of Jurgen Klopp’s midfield trio. When available, he is perhaps now the manager’s first choice on the left side of the field.

The former England Under-21 player has shown great promise lately. Scoring twice in the Reds’ 5-1 Carabao Cup victory over West Ham and once again on New Year’s Day in the Premier League victory over Newcastle.

Speaking after the latest game, Klopp told reporters: “We all know how good a player jones is, he’s technically incredibly skilled, but he finds more and more direction in his dribbling, he gets better out of situations”.

“‘And his pressing, counter-pressing, meanwhile, he sets the level, actually, how it should look”.

I’m really happy with that. It keeps every player in the game.

Jones is attracting interest from Arsenal

According to certain reports, Jones has piqued the interest of Premier League rivals Arsenal ahead of a potential summer transfer. But this is wildly inaccurate.

Subsequently, a report surfaced that suggested Jones had once broadcast his childhood love of the Gunners at the Reds’ training ground.

Anfield Watch is aware that Liverpool is primarily the homegrown star’s club. And that jones wants to maintain his current level of performance and manager trust.

Anfield Watch has been informed that Liverpool is very unlikely to deal with a direct rival for a key first-team player. Even in the event that potential suitors express interest.

Jones, who has 19 club appearances in 2023–2024, has a Liverpool contract until 2027.
