Liverpool looking to sign £51.5m defender Inacio in the winter transfer

Liverpool are in mood to sign £51.5m defender Goncalo Inacio from Sporting Lisbon. Liverpool were also keen on securing Inacio during the summer transfer. However, there was no interest from the Portuguese side back then. The Portuguese defender is in the list of many top clubs. Arsenal are reportedly planning to make an offer for him alongside Tottenham, whi hold an interest in him. However, according to Record over in Portugal, the Reds are looking to land Inacio as they even sent a scout midweek to watch him in Europa League.

To a luck of Liverpool, Inacio scored a brace in the match boasting his offensive display as well. He is believed to have a release clause of £51.5m and a bid in January is now possible. It is nothing less of surety that Liverpool need a defender. Owing to Joel Matip’s season long injury and Virgil Van Dijk in his 30s now, they need to have some fresh legs in the squad. Moreover, Ibrahima Konate is also prone to injuries so far. Consequently, Goncalo Inacio will be a great addition to the squad considering the talent he has.

The 22-year old central defender is arguably one of the best in Portugal. Furthermore, there have been many players like Ruben Dias, Darwin Nunez and many coming from their to England. However, it does seem that there will be a tough competition between the clubs in the end for him. Sporting will surely be landing their talented prospect into the hands of the one splashing the biggest sum of money. Liverpool currently stand as the league leaders and will be hosting Man United on Sunday.
