Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano suggests Liverpool missed out on signing French defender Benjamin Pavard after Inter Milan agreed a move for him.

According to GIVEMESPORTS last month, Journalist Christian Falk claimed that Reds spoke to player’s agent over a possible move to Anfield. The French International who can play as both centre-back and full-back has been looking for a way out of Bayern Munich this summer.

However, Reds lack of option at the back line can backfire on them this season. Ibrahim Konate has been out due to a groin injury and will be back in squad after the international break.

Liverpool will look to bring reinforcement for their backline before transfer window shuts down this week. However, Pavard will not join the Mersyside club this week.

Fabrizio Romano claims Pavard will join Inter Milan for around £27.5m including add-ons. He wrote :-

“Benjamin Pavard to Inter, here we go! The green light from Bayern arrives as €30m deal plus €2m add-ons will be sealed today.

“Pavard could travel to Milano later today for medical tests and contract signing on Wednesday.

“He wanted Inter move and it’s done.”

Pavard would have a brilliant signing for Reds this summer. He is special player who was already lifted the FIFA World Cup in 2018 with France National Team.

Former manager Thomas Tuchel praised the Frenchman and said last year :-

“He’s an underrated player.

“He can adapt to the highest level and he defends rigorously.

“He’s a top team player, he immediately had my confidence and proved to me that I had been right.”
