Liverpool still in the race for Moises Caicedo – Paul Joyce

Liverpool

Journalist Paul Joyce claims that Liverpool are still not out of the race for Moises Caicedo after the Brighton midfielder wants to join Chelsea this summer.

On Friday, one of the most bizarre transfer saga unfolded. After Jurgen Klopp announced in the press-conference that Caicedo with join Reds, the Equadorian reject it and wanted to join Chelsea as he agreed personal terms with them back in May.

Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano claims Caicedo has conveyed Liverpool that he wants to proceed to the Stanford Bridge this summer. However Reds still have a chance to get back into the race.

According to Paul Joyce of The Times, Liverpool still have a chance :-

“Caicedo is understood to prefer Chelsea and the club hope that will swing the deal in their favour, but Liverpool are not out of the running.

“They believe Chelsea are struggling to strike an agreement with Brighton and are not walking away”.

It’s positive news that Caicedo wants to join Chelsea but if they can’t match or outgun Liverpool’s bid, but Brighton might not entertain this conundrum to be very precise. Few suggests that the bid of £111m was a deliberate plot as Blues cannot afford to match this offer due to FFP rules.

Chelsea still needs to recollect the necessary cash to sign Caicedo this summer. The Equadorian International is clearly wants to join the London-based club very soon.

As we expect, there’s still much twists and turns left in this deal as it looks far from being over. Liverpool might still have a chance to hijack the deal this summer.
