Manchester City CEO reveals about the club’s plan for the teenage star of Girona, Savinho. Both Girona and Man City are affiliated to the City Football Group. Moreover, the Spanish side also sits at the top of La Liga just like the Sky Blues. They have a total of 11 wins in their first 13 league games. Even though Girona were playing in the second division of Spanish football in 2018/19, the club is making a name for themselves at the moment.
There are numerous players shining for Girona this season. But Savio is standing in a different league of his own for the club. The Brazilian has been involved in eight goals so far. He is currently on loan from French side ESTAC Troyes. However, his rumours for a move to the Premier League club has already started. The CEO of Etihad, Ferran Soriano said to Mundo Deportivo,
“Savinho will stay in Girona until the end of the season and I think he will stay for more seasons. He will not move from here.”
Even though Savinho is a part of CFG group, it will be difficult for him to secure a move to Pep’s side. However, if he continues to deliver on the pitch, it can become a more clear path for him to Manchester side. Girona will be facing Athletic Bilbao after the international break is over. They will wish to carry on their sensational run in the upcoming fixtures as well. Meanwhile, City will be facing their arch-rivals Liverpool just after the break. They will also be hoping to remain at the top of the league as the title race looks to have heated up.
