Manchester City eying on Colwill who could be the next John stones

Manchester City reportedly seems to be interested in Chelsea defender Levi Colwill who could be the next John Stones.

The youngster is currently on loan to Brighton and According to Simon Phillips, he has caught the eyes of Manchester City and Bayern Munich with his impressive performances.

Last season the youngster join Huddersfield Town on loan in the Championship. Where he featured in 31 Championship games and earned an excellent 6.97 average rating. He helped the Championship side to reach the playoff final.

The 19-years old joined Brighton on loan last summer and has established himself as a regular starter under Roberto de Zerbi. His impressive performance in a 3-0 win against Liverpool earned him a 7.28 rating.

Manchester City interested in Colwill

Colwill earned praise from Carlos Corberan for his performances in Championship last season. He has convinced the Spaniard that he’ll go to the top in the future.

Carlos said:

“He’s a very young player with a lot of things he is doing fantastically, and other things he needs to continue improving.

“I think he’s going to be one of the most important centre-backs for this country in the future.”

This will surely increase the youngster’s confidence. He is becoming a starter for the Seagulls who are one of the most in-form sides in the Premier League. It won’t be a surprise if he gets called up by the England National team soon. Reports suggest that he is close to the first call-up for The Three Lions.

Colwill is best known for his passing, creating chances for teammates, and aerial duels which makes him very much a modern centre-back.

Stones also played in the lower leagues with Barnesley before joining Everton and then being signed up by Manchester City. Colwill could make a move to Etihad this year and follow Stones footsteps.
