Manchester City identifies an old target as a replacement to Kyle Walker

Manchester City officials have identified Reece James as a long-term replacement for Kyle Walker. According to recent reports, City are looking to re-ignite their interest in James. However, persuading the move and negotiating with Chelsea will be a hard deal for the Sky Blues. James has recently got the captain’s armband for the Blues. Although, Walker had been on the list of German giants Bayern Munich, City’s flattering offer forced him to stay at Manchester. Now, the management ok Sky Blues’ feels the need of a replacement as the 33-year old England international is on the end of his career.

According to the information of the Independent’s Miguel Delaney, Reece James is seen as a replacemeng for Kyle Walker. Though, it is not the first time City have shown interest in the Chelsea skipper. They were also in a hunt for him when Walker was linked with Bayern. The Manchester sode feels that James is a much ‘ready to compete’ player in the Premier League. Moreover, the two national mates came head-to-head in the weekend’s clash that ended 4-4. However, the game was more in headlines for its controversial decisions.

Manchester City will return to action against Liverpool after the international break at their home. The hosts will try to strengthen their top spot by a won over their arch-rivals. Pep Guardiola will be eyeing on a fourth successive league title. Following this, City will also face Tottenham and Aston Villa. In their course of Champions League, they will face RB Leipzig and Crvena Zvezda.
