Manchester City identify Jamal Musiala as a long-term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian is currently unavailable until the new year after undergoing surgery for hamstring. Kevin De Bruyne is under contract with City until 2025. He will be turning 35 by the time his contract expires. The Belgian midfielder has been a part of Etihad since 2015. He helped the Sky Blues in winning 14 trophies, including five Premier League titles and a Champions League.

Kevin De Bruyne has become just the fifth player to register hundred assists in the Premier League last season. Moreover, he shares the record for the most assists in a single campaign with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry. De Bruyne won the Premier League playmaker award for the third time last season. Furthermore, he was the PFA Player of the year in 2020 and 2021. However, the management at City are reportedly preparing for the departure of the legendary midfield maestro. The Secret Scout claimed that Bayern Munich‘s Jamal Musiala is considered to be a perfect replacement for the Belgian.

The German international scored 16 goals and provided 16 assists in the previous campaign leading the German giants to their successive title victory. Musiala is under contract with Bayern Munich until 2026. He played with the England’s youth sides as a teenager before committing senior international allegiance with Germany. Manchester City have successfully replaced their outgoings in the past like Haaland with Aguero, Kompany by Ruben Dias, Gundogan by Kovacic and others.
