Manchester City are in a mood for a return of their ex-player Leroy Sane. Bayern Munich’s winger Leroy Sane is considered as a fan favourites at City. The 27-year old german winger had an exit from the Etihad back in 2020. He is a two times Premier League champion with City and loads of domestic cups. Sane signed a five-year deal at Allianz Arena for a sum of €45 million. Though, it rose to €60 million through the completion of add-ons related to performance. Despite leaving the club amid noises, it seems that City fans are still in love with their former winger.
Owing to some fresh reports, the management at Etihad has given a green flag to their interest in Sane. According to the information of BILD’s Christian Falk, the Sky Blues are ready to join Liverpool in the race of signing Leroy Sane. Bayern Munich director Christoph Freund recently said on the matter of Sane’s new contract talks. He said,
“Reports of talks not taking place with Leroy Sané over new deal are fake. This is the best Leroy Sané Bayern has had so far. He’s one of the players on whom we want to build the future of the team.”
However, Sane still has some connections to the east Manchester due to the connections of his partner with the side. As a result, City fans might not have lost the hope of a potential return of the German. If the move materialises, it will be great to see him linking up in his prime years with City’s latest signing Jeremy Doku.
