Ilkay Gundogan, the star of Manchester City, the contract is about to expire. The cub thinks that he has already made the decision to leave the club.
Teams targeting the star
As per recent reports, Arsenal are again trying to hijack one more City player. They previously purchased Gabriel Jesus and Zinchenko.
Both the players have been outstanding additions to Mikel Arteta. Both players are key figures in Arsenal’s title race this season. It seems that the Gunners are trying to repeat the same trick.
However, Arsenal are not the only team eyeing for him. FC Barcelona is also present in the race.
The Catalan giants are ready to offer him a two-year deal at Camp Nou. The talks are already going on for some time.
Unfortunately, any deal subjecting Barcelona addresses to their current Financial Fair Play problem, thus making their hold on the deal lose.
Gundogan’s preference
Every player in the world dreams of playing in Barcelona or Real Madrid at some point of his career. So is Gundogan preferring.
He will be turning 33 later this year and if he joins any other club, his chance of playing for Barcelona will never come again.
Moreover, he has won everything domestically with Man City. So joining Arsenal might not excite him on the same level, despite their wonderful season.
That would be a blow for Arsenal, but the race is clearly far from over given everything that has surrounded Barcelona over the last couple of years.
Conclusion
The Cityzens would love to keep Gundogan for one more year. However, they fear that the midfielder has already decided to leave the club.
