Here we have with us the Manchester United player ratings in a poor display against Wolves. Manchester United had a very good opportunity to strengthen their position for the top four. However, they failed to capitalize on it and suffered a loss against Wolves at home.

Wolves have won at Old Trafford after 40 years and they had the most number of shots in the first half this season. United must be frustrated by the fact that they got dominated at home by Wolves. The first half was all in the control of Wolves and United barely had any chances. However, De Gea was up to the questions asked by the Wolves attack.

United came close to taking the lead in the 67th minute as Bruno Fernandes hit the crossbar from just outside the six-yard box. Soon enough in the 68th minute, Ronaldo scored an offside goal and the score was still 0-0. Wolves got a good opportunity to score a free-kick which was well taken by Saiss but was unfortunate to find the crossbar.

Wolves take the lead in the 82nd minute when United cleared Traore’s cross. However, that clearance fell out to Joao Moutinho who was quick to react and score in the bottom far corner from outside the box. Moreover, United could have scored in the final minutes with a Fernandes free-kick but Jose Sa was up to the challenge.

Manchester United Player Ratings vs Wolves

David de Gea – 6/10

Did well to keep the score 0-0 in the first half. However, he had no chance of saving Moutinho’s effort.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 5/10

Put in very few good crosses but was awful after half-time and was taken off. Dalot could have provided more attacking threats.

Phil Jones – 7/10

Not bad for a player who played after 708 days. Moreover, he was United’s best player in the first half and was unfortunate that his header went to Moutinho.

Raphael Varane – 6/10

He improved on his performance from how he started against Newcastle. Moreover, he did well to keep it tight with Raul Jimenez.

Luke Shaw – 5/10

Did not provide the attacking threat on a frequent basis and struggled against Adama Traore for the goal United conceded.

Scott McTominay – 4/10

He was very sloppy with the ball and was surrounded by Neves and Moutinho. Moreover, got booked early in the first half.

Nemanja Matic – 5/10

Made very little impact but plays better as a proper holding midfielder than a Central midfielder. Put in a good cross for Bruno which hit the crossbar.

Mason Greenwood – 6/10

Was very bright and lively in attack but was very unfortunate to get subbed off first.

Jadon Sancho – 3/10

Did not look comfortable with or without the ball and made some terrible decisions. He should have come off earlier.

Edinson Cavani – 4/10

Took a terrible decision of not passing it to Greenwood and taking a shot instead. However, he thrives as a sole striker than as a forward who drops back.

Cristiano Ronaldo – 4/10

Almost cost United a goal when his attempt for a back went straight towards Raul Jimenez. Moreover, scored an offside goal in the second half.

Substitutes

Bruno Fernandes – 5/10

Tried to create chances but was not enough. He should have scored his chance but was unfortunate that it hit the crossbar.

Marcus Rashford – 4/10

Did not get enough opportunities to influence the game.

Did not get enough time to influence the game.
