Manchester United to look for a new striker after they announced their parting with Cristiano Ronaldo. After the last match in the Premier League before the World Cup break, United were looking forward to a peaceful break. But all plans were shattered when Ronaldo went ahead and gave an interview against the club to Piers Morgan. Cristiano Ronaldo called out the manager, the owners as well as his former teammates Rooney and Gary Neville. Ronaldo had claimed that the manager Ten Hag and the club have disrespected him.

Manchester United to aim for a new striker

After the interview came out, it left United with no choice but to part with him. Both parties have mutually decided to separate which was finally announced within the last few days. Ronaldo’s departure from Manchester, it opens up a position of a striker. United will need a quality striker to replace the Portuguese captain. According to Fichajes, Manchester United are interested in Bayer Leverkusen‘s Moussa Diaby. The youngster have eight goals and four assists in 22 appearances this season. Diaby’s contract runs till 2025 and Leverkusen will not be selling the player at a cheap rate. The report further suggests that Erik Ten Hag is looking at the Frenchman as a replacement for Anthony Martial.

Other United strikers’ status

Anthony Martial is an amazing player but he obviously could never be considered as Rolando’s replacement even with his goals-to-minute ratio remaining high. Martial’s injury has been an ongoing problem for the player. Marcus Rashford is the club’s top scorer so far but the young player has still got a lot to improve in his game.
