Manchester United vs Brighton match in danger of being called off amid coronavirus issues

According to Manchester Evening News, the Premier League match between Manchester United and Brighton can be postponed. Manchester United faced a coronavirus outbreak in training on Sunday. Moreover, United’s also had to postpone their match against Brentford in the midweek because of the same issue. This is a serious issue on United’s part as it can determine their whole season.

However, Manchester United are in constant contact with the league regarding their situation. Moreover, there is no official statement from United about postponing the game on Saturday. Furthermore, the Red Devils are yet to confirm which players have tested positive for the virus. Brighton’s game against Spurs was also postponed as Spurs are also facing the same issue.

Moreover, Brighton also faced similar issues however their squad is ready to face United on the weekend. United suffered from the coronavirus outbreak on Sunday after their game against Norwich City. The Canaries also faced a coronavirus outbreak in their squad. However, they continued to play the game without the positively tested players. As a result, United players also tested positive later after their PCR test.

Many other clubs can sooner or later face the problem. As a result, the league will have to make a decision whether the tournament should be continued or not. At this point, the league has displayed inaccurate decisions over the matches to be played.

What does match postponed betwen Manchester United and Brighton mean for the Premier League?

The Premier League had to postpone several other matches because of the coronavirus outbreak in some camps. Moreover, Premier League has rejected the request of Leicester City to postpone their game against Tottenham. The Foxes are missing 9 first-team players due to injury, illness, or covid. However, the league postponed Tottenham’s game against Brighton because of the same issues. Moreover, the league was responsible for postponing United’s game against Brighton.

As a result, Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has hit out at the Premier League. Rodgers was not happy over the fact that some teams are permitted to postpone the match while some teams are not. Moreover, Dean Smith was also not happy with the Premier League’s treatment of the outbreak. The league will have to make quick and appropriate decisions whether the matches should be continued or not.

United will miss another match due to the coronavirus outbreak. These postponed matches could later haunt United in the form of fixture congestion. Moreover, the players also won’t get much experience under their new interim manager Ralf Rangnick. As a result, United may suffer in the later stages of the season. However, if they successfully adapt to the situations and get results then that would be a huge relief for the Red Devils.
