Manchester United are said to be out of contention to sign Christopher Nkunku this summer from Leipzig.
The forward was one of the pick of the strikers in Europe and many clubs had shown interest in him.
He was relentless in front of goal this season. He scored 35 goals and provided 19 assists from the 50 appearances that he made for the club across all competitions.
Speculations over his future in Leipzig have been rife in recent months. It was also said that United were eager to bring him to Old Trafford.
Now, The Independent reports that Leipzig has declared that they would not be selling the talented striker for less than £100m.
The report further adds that Nkunku has still a year left on his contract. He would, moreover, be offered a new contract which would have a release clause as puny as £50m.

Such a low release clause is bound to create a race among top clubs to secure his signature. Moreover, it is known that Arsenal, Paris St. Germain, and Liverpool are all keen on signing him.
Apart from his form in the Bundesliga this season, he has been impressive in the Champions League as well where he scored seven goals and provided two assists in just six games.
Since joining Leipzig in 2019, he has featured in 134 games, scoring 47 goals and providing 46 assists.
The Red Devils meanwhile have shifted their preference to Ajax winger Antony. Moreover, it is said that the club is confident of bringing the Brazilian to Old Trafford this summer.
The 20-time Premier League champions are in serious need of attacking reinforcements. With the departures of key players like Juan Mata, Edinson Cavani, and Jesse Lingard, United are desperately looking for attackers.
United are said to be in advanced talks with Frenkie De Jong, to bring him to Old Trafford this season.
