Mauricio Pochettino has a player like Foden in his squad as Cole Palmer

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has Cole Palmer in the squad like Foden. The Blues signed Palmer for £40million from Manchester City in the summer. Mauricio will be thanking his management for bringing him in even though he was not in the plans of the Argentine. When Palmer was announced as a Chelsea player, Mauricio made it clear that this was not a deal for him to take credit of. Instead, he revealed that the club’s sporting directors had made the decision to bring in Palmer.

I think the sporting director and the owner of course, but the sporting director… it was his idea to add him to the squad.”

Moreover, Pep rates him as well to the likes of Phil Foden. Back in 2020, he said on the club’s official website,

He is an incredible young lad in the training sessions. Since two months ago he has showed us a lot of things. He has a good future in this club.”

“He is a humble guy with incredible finishing, like Phil.”

Talking about his recent performance, Palmer’s quick thinking helped him intercept Tim Ream’s careless pass. He then quickly threaded it to Armando Broja, who scored in fortuitous fashion to double their lead and help seal a 2-0 win over Fulham. Chelsea fans even applauded him while he walked off the pitch.

He may be playing for a different club than Foden but there is every chance he could follow in his footsteps and become a regular in no time – just like his fellow City academy graduate.
