Michael Owen said West Ham United star is better than Liverpool star Mo Salah this season

Former English striker Michael Owen says West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen is better than Mo Salah. West Ham and Liverpool both are looking really good this season and Owen believes Bowen is a huge figure in it. The two forwards share a similar profile and Bowen also said Salah is a benchmark for him. However, former Ballon D’or winner believes that Hammers star edges the Egyptian this season. Speaking on the Premier League’s official website, Owen explains why he feels this.

Mo Salah is having another great season but I’m going for Jarrod Bowen. He has been hugely influential in West Ham’s success. Playing from the right, through the middle or a hybrid of the two, he is their chief goal threat.

He’s been incredibly efficient in front of goal and already has 11 Premier League goals – just one short of his personal best of 12 in a single top-flight season.”

This statement can be a wrath for Liverpool fans especially from their former legend. However, this is an unbiased comment from such an experienced pundit. It is not possible to argue on his point at times. Another former Liverpool man Jamie Carragher and his colleague Gary Neville both picked the West Ham star in their team of season. The latter controversially named four strikers in his side with Erling Haaland, Salah and Son Heung-min alongside him.

Although Bowen is in the form of his life, drawing comparisons with Salah is a bit too far. The Egyptian has been a sensation for so long at the top level. This season is also jo less than that with Klopp looking fir him to contribute in scoresheet.
