Mikel Arteta praised his boys for displaying ‘phenomenal character’ against Chelsea. Arteta and his men rescued a point against Chelsea after trailing a 2-0 lead. Owing to this game, Arsenal continues to maintain their undefeated record at Stamford Bridge since 2018. During the first half, Palmer broke the deadlock by scoring a penalty in the early first-half. Later in the second half, Mykhailo Mudryk doubled the advantage for the Blues by humiliating David Raya in goal. However, Declan Rice scored the opener for the Gunners 13 minutes later. Leandro Trossard, substitued in the latter part of the game, scored the equalizer to complete the comeback. Moreover, Eddie Nketiah came close to snatching all the three points in the dying minutes but was unable to convert

Speaking after the match, Arteta was overwhelmed with joy and said,

We didn’t play with enough purpose and clarity in the first half but the way we reacted was phenomenal. I have no doubt about our character and could see at half-time that we knew we had to do much better. I love that about the team. This is who we are.”

“Even though we conceded in a situation like the goal of Mudryk, we kept going and they did exactly what we asked of them, that you never give up and we continued to go and go. We should have scored a goal earlier, we didn’t, but the team was always there to fight until the end. In the end, we got a point after a really difficult result and the way it started.”
