Mikel Arteta was understandably frustrated after Arsenal lost to Spurs 3-0. The Gunners now hold on to a thin one-point lead sitting in the fourth place. Arsenal started the game on a positive note, trying to dominate. However, soon they seem to lose their flow.

They conceded a penalty just within thirty minutes of the game- which gave Spurs a 1-0 lead early on. Then Rob Holding was sent off after Paul Tierney booked him the second time for a foul on Heung-Min Son. Harry Kane then added a second just after that and Son wrapped things up in the second half.

Arsenal’s match went from bad to worse as Gabriel came off injured which could see him miss the rest of the season. However, Arteta updated the media about Gabriel. He said,” He [Gabriel] felt something, hopefully, he will be fit for Monday, and hopefully we can recover Gabi as obviously, we don’t have enough players in the back.”

He also was heard talking about the fourth-place finish. “We have two games to play, each of us, it’s in our hands and now we have to do our job. What we showed from today in this stadium [on what to do on Sunday].”

What Mikel Arteta had to say about the game?

He seemed frustrated with the referee’s decisions. However, he was subtle enough not to mention about him.

He said,” If I say what I think I am suspended six months.

I am allowed to give my interpretation of what I thought, but I do not like to lie. I cannot say what I think, I will be suspended. so proud of my players, ask the referee to come here and explain his decisions. That’s his decision, such a beautiful game was destroyed here. The decision is made, I cannot change it.”
