Moises Caicedo agent Andrea Pellegatti reveals that the player only wanted Chelsea. The representative was responsible for the move of Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion to Chelsea. Moreover, it has been the most expensive transfer in the history of the English Premier League. As outlet Sport Italia features an interview with Epic Sports’ agent Andrea Pellegatti, he was asked about the original price paid by the Blues for Caicedo. Owing to this, he says,

“£116m, equivalent to €133m. This is the result of a long work on the player, who quickly burnt his bridges in England after having passed through Belgium. With De Zerbi he exploded and then came Chelsea and Liverpool who contended for him.”

Pellegatti was then asked to reveal about the race won by the Chelsea after Liverpool bid. He adds,

“That’s right, the amount paid is no accident. It was finalised in the last few hours. But the boy only wanted Chelsea, who had started to express their interest in a consistent manner since January.”

Brighton paid a sum of €28.2m to sign Caicedo from Independiente Del Valle in 2021. Though, it seems to be a small amount considering his selling price. However, it was a huge bid at stake while taking him out of Ecuador. Since his arrival at Chelsea this summer, Moises Caicedo has four appearances made. He returned from international break with a knee injury, and it’s unclear when he’ll be back with the Blues.
