Monaco makes advancements for Arsenal player Folarin Balogun

Monaco continues its attempt at signing the sought after Folarin Balogun, as the club finally accepts the Arsenal player’s fee.

The Gunners player was the centre of attention ever since his remarkable performance at the Ligue 1. With 27 goals in 37 participations, the American international provided Reims with exceptional offensive prowess. Said show of talent soon attracted the attention of many clubs in need of a striker. These clubs include Inter Milan, Monaco, and Chelsea.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is very competent of his current roster. With the team overequipped in case of injury, the manager decided to cut Balogun loose while demands are still high. The 22 year old’s fee is no less than £50 million, a hefty amount even for the most casual spenders.

Recently however, Les Rouge et Blanc have agreed on the player’s fee and are advancing in their negotiations with Arsenal. With sources claiming that personal terms were met as well.

The player will serve as a replacement for Breel Embolo. The young centre-forward recently suffered from a cruciate ligament rupture and is unavailable for an undisclosed amount of time.

Will Balogun leave Arsenal for Chelsea or Monaco?

Chelsea and Monaco are both very adamant on signing Balogun from Arsenal despite the asking price. The two clubs have taken the exact same steps to hire the 22 year old, which makes identifying the likely winner substantially difficult.

Both clubs have met the player’s personal demands, and both have agreed to the club £50 million asking price. Still, one of the two does have an advantage.

Folarin Balogun has expressed his desire to play in the Premier League several times in the past, giving Chelsea the upper hand. Despite this, Monaco still has a chance to recruit the player.
