After his impressive last season, Chelsea are trying to claim Folarin Balogun from Arsenal to add to their roster.
Indeed, Balogun achieved remarkable feats at the Ligue 1 while loaned to Reims. Scoring 27 goals in the 37 games he participated in. This will not go unnoticed, as many clubs reached out to Arsenal, including the current favourites, the Blues.
Additionally, Pochettino has expressed his desire to reinforce the offense. As he plans to enlist additional talent before the end of the transfer window. the manager has been very keen on the idea despite the local untapped potential that is Lukaku.
On the other hand, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is very confident about his current roster. The manager is very comfortable with releasing Balogun as long as the receiving club meets the price quota.
Speaking of which, the Gunners are pricing their young striker for no less than £50 million. The asking price has already pushed away many interested parties such as Monaco and Inter Milan.
Chelsea’s chase for Folarin Balogun
Chelsea had a difficulty deciding if Balogun was worth the hastle, as the club has already surpassed £300 million in spending this season alone.
However, due to the injuries of both Christopher Nkunku and Armando Broja, the new addition may be a necessity.
“It is not easy in this moment to find the right profile. We are in the process, working to see if we can add some players in this area. But it is a job that is not easy for the club. For sure, they are working really hard to add some players” commented Pochettino after his latest match with West Ham.
Folarin Balogun is not opposed to joining the Blues. The player’s desire to reach new professional highs is easily visible. And with no experience in the Premier League, Chelsea has something to offer.
