Neil Lennon says Pep Guardiola will be frustrated after City vs palace result

Manchester City

Pundit Neil Lennon thinks that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will be frustrated after a draw against Crystal Palace. Man City plays a draw from a winning position against Palace last night. Despite being 2-0 up, the defending champions bottled the game against Roy Hodgson’s side. The Northern Irish pundit feels that the Spaniard will be fuming on his squad after the result. A low cross from Schlupp was met by Jean Mateta for the first Palace goal. It seemed a s if the men in Sky Blues were not willing to do much on that. Furthermore, a penalty in the dying minutes was well hit by Olise to level the game.

The goals from Jack Grealish and Rico Lewis put the treble winners 2-0 up in the first hour of the game. However, things went downhill from that only. Speaking after Mateta’s gaol, lennon said,

“Again, City haven’t kept a clean sheet. I think that goal could have been avoided and I don’t know if that was from a bit of malaise that set in.

It is something that could have been avoided and he will be really frustrated, Pep Guardiola.”

The defending champions have now conceded eight in their last four games. Moreover, its only third clean sheet for City at home this season so far. The figure could have been better if Manchester side had the services of John Stones. the Englishman offers a lot in both offensive and defensive roles. Besides this, injuries to key players like Doku, Kevin De Bruyne and Haaland is also costing City a lot of points. The European Champions will be heading towards Saudi Arabia for the Club World Cup next week.
