Pundit Graeme Bailey claims Newcastle United could sign Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe in the January transfer window.

After not getting a single minute last season, Smith Rowe must getting annoyed with his situation at the Emirates. With incoming recruitment this summer, he has slipped down the pecking orders.

At the age of 23, he needs to play more football to develop his career further. Smith Rowe is still young and he might find another club for more game time on the field.

Speaking on the Talking Transfer Podcast, Graeme Bailey discussed Smith Rowe’s future and he identifies Newcastle United and Aston Villa as potential destination for the midfielder. The pundit term him as a “special player”.

Bailey discussed about Smith Rowe and said :-

“Does Arteta trust him? I don’t think he does you know. I think there have been chances for Smith Rowe to play, but he’s some way down the pecking order. We know Aston Villa love him, they almost signed him before, they still want him, our information is that Newcastle would take him, Brighton would take him, he can’t go to Tottenham, they wouldn’t sell him there. He will give it until January and see what’s happening there.”

It would be good for Smith Rowe to leave Arsenal as he might not get regular start under Mikel Arteta. But the midfielder has got huge potential.

Smith Rowe scored 10 goals in 33 league games in his best season for Arsenal. However currently he is injured as Arteta confirmed that ”he is still not their to play 90 mins.”
