Newcastle United may look to secure the services of former Real Madrid star goalkeeper

Newcastle United maybe looking for a potential move of former Real Madrid superstar Keylor Navas. The former Nottingham Forest and Real Madrid star is among the targets for Newcastle as a replacement to Nick Pope. According to The Mirror, the Magpies could sign Paris Saint Germain goalkeeper in January. Their first choice keeper Pope is injured and perhaps sidelined for four months. However, nothing concrete has landed on the transfer. As per the reports, Keylor Navas could “enter Newcastle’s thinking”.

The Costa Rica international is currently a second-choice to Gianluigi Donnaruma at Paris Saint Germain. Though, he has established himself as a legend of the game with Spanish giants Real Madrid by helping them to win multiple Champions Leagues in his prime. Navas is still one of the best keepers even at the age of 36. Moreover, he will be a good signing for St James Park even for a loan move. The move can be appealing for him as well since he was a loanee for Nottingham Forest a season ago. He definitely has some Premier League experience and can be a replacement for Nick Pope.

Newcastle United are aiming to finish in the top four again this season. They will also be looking forward to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League and Navas’ experience can be a huge boost for them. They currently sit seventh in the league with their recent loss against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
