Pundit Shay Given claims Uruguayan International Darwin Nunez will be key for Liverpool to win the Premier League this season.
Jurgen Klopp’s side showed their class yesterday as they thrashed West Ham United 3:1 at Anfield. Reds are now sitting at 2nd spot behind Manchester City in points table.
After Gerard Bowen’s equaliser in the first-half, Darwin Nunez broke the deadlock and put the home team on the front. Diego Jota then sealed the game with a strike in 85th minute.
The 24-year-old was again a key factor for Liverpool once again this season. Nunez will be all fired up after a average performance last season.
Speaking on the Match of the Day 2 podcast, pundit Shay Given praised the forward for his brilliant display lately. However, he again missed a sitter yesterday but club supporters are getting use to it.
Given also emphasized the fact that Nunez will be a key man if the Liverpool wants to challenge for Premier League Title once again this season. He said :-
“Nunez today, he scored again. I think he’s going to have a big season for Liverpool.
“It’s is a brilliant finish. That’s his third goal already this season, there were question marks over him last season, can he be the difference for Liverpool this year? I said it before a ball was kicked, I think Liverpool could challenge for the title again this year.”
With four goals and two assists already this season, Nunez is finally his true form for the Mersyside club. With his quality, he can easily score 20 goals in a entire season.
