Obstructing the field in the game of cricket is considered out, so why wasn’t Ishan Kishan? Anyway, Sri- Lanka didn’t appeal against Ishan Kishan for obstructing the field.

OBSTRUCTING THE FIELD IS OUT!

Previously, in the year 2006, during a match between India and Pakistan, Inzamam-ul-Haq had attempted the same scenario. Inzamam-ul-Haq tried to obstruct Indian field Suresh Raina’s throw at the stumps. Eventually, Inzamam-ul Haq had to depart back to the pavilion for his act of obstructing the throw. All this happened at the Peshawar Stadium, Pakistan.

The same case of obstructing the throw by a fielder occurred in Ipl 2019. Amit Mishra, who was playing for Delhi Capitals franchise, tried to block the throw by Khaleel Ahmed. In the eliminator game between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi required two runs in the last three balls when this incident took place. Amit Mishra was looking desperate to get off the strike. Eventually, he had to depart back to the pavilion.

In match number four of the Super Four stage in the Asia Cup 2023, India was playing against the defending Champions, Sri- Lanka. India was amidst the concern of the early fall of wickets of star players like Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill, scoring a minimum. Ishan came into bat at number four after the dismissal of Virat Kohli. In addition, many glimpsed that Ishan Kishan was obstructing the field against Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka team didn’t appeal for the obstruction. However, fans accused Ishan Kishan of his actions and at the same time praised Sri Lanka team for not appealing.
