Australia narrowly surpasses Pakistan to be at the top of the ODI rankings. The Australian team won the second ODI against South Africa by 123 runs.

In the ongoing ODI series between Australia and Pakistan, Australia is leading the series by 2-1. Australia won the first two matches against South Africa. Moreover, in the second game, the Australian cricket team had a sweeping win against South Africa. South Africa’s captain, Temba Bavuma, won the toss and elected to field first, following which Australia’s team mounted a massive total of 392/8. The 392/8 on the scoreboard includes David Warner’s 106 off 93 balls with 15 boundaries. David Warner smashed 12 fours and three sixes. In addition, Marnus Labuschange also scored a century. He sliced 124 off 99 deliveries, with the help of 20 boundaries, 19 fours, and one maximum.

During the second innings, when South Africa came in to execute their chasing ability, the opening duo Quinton de Kock and skipper Temba Bavuma started all right. However, the batsman at the second spot in the ODI rankings, Rassie van der Dussen, didn’t have much to contribute to the team’s score. He scored 17 off 19 deliveries, and the South African couldn’t chase the total as they were under pressure. The Regular fall of wickets made them panic, and Australia eventually won the game by a margin of 123 runs at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein.

This massive win for Australia contributed to them being at the top of the ODI rankings as a team. Australia won two straight games against South Africa and are back at the top, surpassing Pakistan. Australian team is on the top of the ODI rankings with 118 rating points. Pakistan sits at the second spot with also 118 rating points.
