Oliver Kahn speaks on Ronaldo and Kane links

tennis player

Oliver Kahn has claimed that he looked into signing Cristiano Ronaldo this summer. However, some factors stopped him from doing so.

Kann was full of praise and admiration for the legendary Portuguese. He said that he would not have been doing his job properly if he did not look into Ronaldo’s availability.

We discussed this issue because otherwise, we would not be doing our job properly. I personally consider Cristiano Ronaldo one of the greatest footballers ever on this planet. ‘But we came to the conclusion that despite all the appreciation for Cristiano, he would not have fit in our philosophy in the current situation

The Way Forward For Bayern And Kahn

Bayern Munich lost Robert Lewandowski this summer. It is indeed a big blow as Lewandowski was one of the best, if not the best player in the world over the last few years. He has been breaking goalscoring records for fun for a couple of seasons now. Replacing Lewandowski will be a tough job for Kahn and co.

The German heavyweights did sign Sadio Mane from Liverpool though. The Senegalese superstar can surely fill the void of the goalscorer for the Bavarians.  However, he is not an out-and-out striker like Lewandowski. Moreover, at 30 years of age, it was a rather short-term signing by the Germans.

Another option that has popped up in recent days is Spurs talisman, Harry Kane. The striker tried to unsuccessfully engineer a move to Manchester City last year. He seems content at Tottenham this year around, so it will be difficult to pry him away.

Kahn and Julian Naglesman previously expressed their admiration for the England captain. However, they faced backlash from Antonio Conte. When pressed about Kane again, Kahn did not say much.

I can just say that Harry Kane is an outstanding striker who is now under contract at Tottenham
