Origi returns to Premier League as Forrest secure deadline day signing

Anfield cult hero Divock Origi returns to Premier League this summer as Nottingham Forest secure a deadline day signing from AC Milan.

The Italian Giants bid farewell to the Belgian striker and wrote :-

“AC Milan can confirm that Divock Origi has joined Nottingham Forest FC on loan until 30 June 2024, with an option to make the deal permanent.

“The Club would like to wish Divock all the best for the coming season.”

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano also posted his Twitter/X account regarding the move :-

“Divock Origi signed his Nottingham Forest contract right now!

“Deal completed. Loan with buy option.”

Origi joined AC Milan last season on a free transfer. However, the Belgian struggled to find his rhythm for the Italian outfit.

Before that, Origi was the “clutch player” for Liverpool as he made 175 appearances for the Mersyside club across seven campaigns. The Belgian scored some important goals for Jurgen Klopp’s side — especially his brace against Barcelona in Champions League 2nd leg semifinal clash at Anfield.

Although Forrest supporters will be delighted with their new aquisition this summer. Origi is already a proven name in Premier League and he will also ready to face a new challenge in this campaign.

The 28-year-old joined Forest on a loan deal. Origi will join the likes of Andrew Omobamidele, Ibrahim Sangare, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Odysseas Vlachodimos, Nicolas Dominguez and Nuno Tavares.

Meanwhile, the Belgian might face his former club as Forest will travel to Anfield on 29th October. He will be all pumped up to face his old team-mates.
